John Queenan was born in Durban, South Africa.

He studied photography at the Natal Technikon in Durban and then worked as a commercial photographer for 10 years before a career move to television as a freelance documentary cameraman, working for international television networks such as Reuters and the BBC. This allowed him to focus his photography on fine art projects.

In 1998, he relocated his family to Toronto, Canada where he currently resides. His award-winning photographs have appeared in various exhibitions and publications including Photo Life, Canadian House and Home, PhotoEd, and Maison & Demure, as well as in private collections around the world. His work is available through his website and select outlets across North America.

The photographs are printed on the finest cotton rag archival papers using EPSON 9890 and 3800 printers with custom profiles. This process produces salon quality digital digital prints comparable to traditional gelatin silver prints, having a lifespan of over 100 years.
